Questions

How do I add my photos?
In the designer, choose or drop three of your own photos of the lights. Each goes into a square: drag it to move it and use the slider to zoom, until it sits as you like. Photos straight from a phone work: iPhone HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF.
Will my photos be sharp in print?
Each square is cut from your photo at 300 dpi for the paper size you choose. The designer tells you for each photo whether it is sharp at that size; if a photo is small for a large print it says so, and a smaller size or a less zoomed crop fixes it. A phone photo is plenty for every size up to A3.
Is the map the real night?
Yes. The map shows how far the aurora reached that night, from the night's real Kp index (GFZ Potsdam's archive, back to 1932), with your place marked. It is a map from the Kp, not a photo: your photos show the lights themselves.
What does it say?
The place, a tagline (the night and its Kp, or your own words) and the coordinates.
What colours and shapes are there?
Two colours on deep night blue, Polar night and Great storm, and the map as a wide window or a square.
What size is it?
Portrait, at the paper size you choose, from A5 to A1 or 8×10 to 24×36 inches. It prints at home or at any print shop.
When do I get my files?
Straight away. After paying you land on your download page, and the receipt email links to it too. The link stays open for 30 days (for a gift, 30 days from the day it's delivered), so download your files and keep them safe. If you need them again later, just write to us.

No — these are digital files. You print them yourself at home or at a print shop, so there's no shipping and no waiting.
